Second edition, first published in 1725, of Reineccius’ influential edition of the Old Testament. This edition distinguishes itself from the former, through the order of pages, which do not run from the right to the left but vice versa.

The first edition reproduced the text of the Antwerp Polyglot and prints beneath it the traditional marginal readings together with the principal Masoretic accentual variants. The editor’s own contribution consists of Latin summaries placed at the head of each chapter. This present second edition, the first quarto edition, is rearranged according to the order of the German Bible, the pagination follows German conventions (See Deutsche Biographie: Reineccius.
