12mo. In contemporary full calf with four raised bands and gilt ruled fillets to boards. Wear to extremities, edges of boards with loss of leather. Inner front hinge split. Annotations in contemporary hand to front free end paper: "Abrahamg Golnitius possidet me Anno 1612" — likely referring to the Danzig travel writer Abraham Gollnitz. Pp. 556–589 feature underlining and numerous neat marginal annotations in ink, likely all made by Gollnitz. First leaves loose and damp-stain to lower outer corner of first half of book block. Third Latin edition, the second Amberg-edition of this work constituting one of the most important sources on etiquette between the Renaissance and Baroque periods, first published in Italian in 1574.

Gollnitz published several geographical and pedagogical works between 1631 and 1643 and served as secretary to the Danish King Christian IV in 1642.
