First French translation of Brerewood’s influential work “Enquiries touching the diversity of languages and religions, through the chief parts of the world”, 1614, which was one of the earliest works dealing with ethnology, the origin of language and the science of religions.
"The author devotes a portion of the work to the first peopling of America, claiming the Tatars as their forefathers" (Sabin).
