Wear to extremities, leather on spine cracked and spine-ends chipped. Vol. 1 with previous owner's name and commentary on front free end-paper in contemporary. Title-page in vol. 1 with underlignings in red. Margin in vol. 1 and 3 with wormtract. Generally internally nice and clean. First Amsterdam-edition of D’Orleans’ popular work on the History of the revolution in England under the family of Stuarts through 1690.
Pierre D'Orléans (1641-98) was a Jesuit Father who wrote extensively on the histories of revolutions in various countries.
