Folio (317 x 208 mm). 12 volumes, all in the original blue stitches paper wrappers (also referred to as fukuro toji-binding) with silver silk covered capitals. Housed in two very nice silk covered cases. A very fine and clean set.

A luxury facsimile print of the 1606-edition of Cheng Dayue’s “Ink Garden of the Cheng Family”. Ink Garden of the Cheng Family is a catalogue of decorative designs for inkstones and ink cakes. Some of the designs were made by well-known artists of the time. It notably features three illustrations sourced from the Gospels found in the 'Evangelicae historiae imagines'.
