Berlin, G. Reimer, 1846. 4to. In "Journal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik, 31. Band, 4 Heft, 1846". In the original printed wrappers, without backstrip. Fine and clean. [Schönemann:] Pp. 269-325. [Entire issue: Pp. 269-358, (2) + 1 plate.].
First printing of Schönemann's paper in which Hensel' Lemma first was introduced - several years before Kurt Hensel published his paper on the subject.
He obtained several important results in number theory concerning the theory of congruences, which all can be found in several publications in Crelle's journal, volumes 17 to 40. Notably he obtained Hensel's lemma before Hensel, Scholz's reciprocity law before Scholz, and formulated Eisenstein's criterion before Eisenstein.
