First edition of Drude's important and early work on plant distribution.
The earliest botanists (systematic botanists) were arranging the plants of the world into classes, families, genera, and species while plant geographers are concerned with the geographic distribution of plant species.
Alexander Von Humboldt is usually regarded as being the father of this discipline, the present work, however, being one of the earliest examples of an atlas entirely dedicated to the geography of plants.
