First edition of all three papers. In the first paper, Einstein explains the causes behind Baer's law: Due to the rotation of the earth erosion occurs mostly on the right banks of rivers in the Nothern Hemisphere while in the Southern Hemisphere erosion occurs primarily on the left banks.
