Anton Friedrich Büsching (1724-1793) was a German geographer and educator, who made significant contributions to German education. In 1757, he was appointed professer of philosophy in Göttingen and entrusted the task of elaborating the new state description of the Duchy of Schleswig to his "learned, immensely helpful, and generally very esteemed friend, Mr. Johann Friedrich Hansen, then a lawyer and advocate in his native city of Flensburg."
