A very rare broadside containing General Bülow's celebrated order of the day following the Danish victory at the Battle of Fredericia on 6 July 1849 - one of the decisive battles of the First Schleswig War. Addressing the Danish troops as “Soldater!” Bülow praises their bravery and records the capture of more than 1800 prisoners, including 30 officers, together with 34 pieces of artillery, hundreds of rifles and military supplies. He notes that the enemy had been driven back on all points and that the Danish forces had cleared the area in front of Fredericia saving the fortress and restoring communication with it.
