The second work is focused on moral philosophy addressing fundamental ethical questions about right and wrong, human duties, virtues and the principles that govern moral behavior

Nicolaus Hieronymus Gundling (1671–1729) was a German jurist and philosopher, born in Kirchensittenbach and died in Magdeburg.  Nicolaus studied at several universities and became a professor of philosophy in Halle in 1705. He notably debated Gotthard Heidegger in 1702 over the cultural influence of French novels.
