First edition of this collection of essays on history, geography, biography, philosophy and cultural history, considered a precursor to the famous 'Gundlingiana.'

Nicolaus Hieronymus Gundling (1671–1729) was a German jurist and philosopher, born in Kirchensittenbach and died in Magdeburg.  Nicolaus studied at several universities and became a professor of philosophy in Halle in 1705. He notably debated Gotthard Heidegger in 1702 over the cultural influence of French novels.
