Johann Hermann Schrader (1684-1737), born in Hamburg, studied theology at the University of Rostock before becoming a tutor in Copenhagen. He later served as senior pastor in Oldesloe and, in 1728, as provost in Tondern, where he was instrumental in establishing a chapel and an orphanage. A strong advocate of Pietism, Schrader was known for his passionate preaching and played a significant role in the Rendsburg synods.
