8vo. In contemporary full sprinkled calf with five raised bands and richly gilt spine. Boards with ruled fillets. Small paper-label pasted on to top of spine. Light wear to extremities, boards slightly soilied and miscoloured. Leather on spine cracked. First few leaves with dampstains, otherwise internally generally nice and clean. (40), 582 pp. + 26 (out of 38) plates. 

Eighth edition of Spark’s most popular and influtial work being a series of disquisitions or meditations on the principal feasts, together with original religious poetry in each section and extensive prayers for each feast.
The engraved illustrations derived from engravings by Collaert after Marten de Vos.  
Despite its popularity and numerous edition and reprints, all editions are scarce and are rarely found in the trade.
