8vo. In a nice contemporary Cambridge-style mirror bindingf with four raised bands and richly gilt spine. Small paper-label pasted on to top of spine. A few dots a marks to boards. A few small wormholes to upper part of spine. The engraved half-title with marginal repairs. Vague dampstain to outer margin throughout, otherwise a nice copy. (16), 789, (11), 63 pp. + 18 plates and engraved half-title. 

Sixth edition of Lassenius most popular work, first published in 1687. Johannes Lassenius (1632-1692), German theologian and baroque poet and professor of theology in Copenhagen 1677. He was arguably the most famous preacher of his time in Copenhagen.
