French translation of this collection of Superville’s sermons, translated from the fifth French edition into German by Gottlieb Israel Musculus. Daniel de Superville (1657–1728), a notable Huguenot pastor and theologian from France, he became a significant figure among the Protestant Huguenots, who faced severe persecution in Catholic France.
Superville fled to the Netherlands following the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685, which led to increased persecution of Protestants in France. In the Netherlands he became a pastor for the Walloon church in Rotterdam where he served for many years.
