The uncommon first edition of Schreger’s work on veterinary medicine. Christian Heinrich Theodor Schreger (1768-1833) was a physician and chemist. Despite starting his education in law at Leipzig University in 1785, he didn't complete it due to health reasons and instead turned to agriculture. After working as a private tutor and overseeing a farm he became an estate manager near Wittenberg. In 1800 he received a degree in medicin and practiced as a physician. In 1810, he became a full professor of chemistry and pharmacology at Wittenberg University.
