Folio (320 x 215 mm). In contemporary full calf with six raised bands and double ruled fillets to boards. Small paper-label to upper part of spine. Edges of boards gilt. Title-page with marginal soiling and with traces from having been folded vertically. Light wear to extremities, but generally a nice and clean copy. Text in two collums within single line framed boarder. (8), 1079, (48) pp.
Rare later edition (Possibly second, the first being from 1619) of this extensive bible commentary by Jesuit Pineda. Pineda entered the Society of Jesus in 1572. He taught philosophy and theology in Seville and Cordova and functioned as consultor to the Spanish Inquisition and, in this capacity, visited numerous libraries in Spain which culminated with his publication “Index Librorum Prohibitorum” (1612)”.
