Wear to extremities: corners worn off, upper capital missing part of leather and lower part of front hindge split. Title-page evenly browned and occassional marginal miscolouring but internally generally fine. (10), 302, (2), 168, 93, (4), 28 pp.
Third corrected and enlarged edition of Parr's works. "Parr, Elnathan D.D., an eminent English divine, flourished in the reign of king James I. Parr was educated at King's College, Cambridge; after taking holy orders he became rector of Palgrave, Suffolk. His exposition of the Epistle to the Romans is a useful "work, "equally remarkable," says Dr. Williams, "for soundness of sentiment, familiarity of illustration, and want of taste in style and composition." His Works were repeatedly published (4th edit., corrected and enlarged. Lond. 1651, fol.). They contain, Exposition on the Epistlet to the Romans (on ch. i, on the first two verses of ch. ii, and on ch. viii-xvi): — The Grounds of Divinity expounded and applied (8th edit.
