First printing. Lie founded the Theory of Continous Transformation groups, which is now called "Lie groups", playing an important role in mathematics and all areas of science. Associated to any system which has a continous group of symmetries is a "Lie group". Lie worked with Felix Klein on a unified view of geometry, and he had a vaist influence on Klein's "Erlangen Program".
