Scarce first German edition of his account of his third Asia-expedition. Przhevalskii set out on his third journey in central Asia from Lake Zaysan in Kazakhstan, and continued through Khami to the upper reaches of the Huang Ho. He covered some 7,660 kilometers and came within 270 kilometers of his goal, Lhasa in Tibet, but he was forbidden to enter the area. The work contains imoportent first descriptions of the flora and fauna of many of the areas through which he travelled.
