First appearance of this importent paper in which Perrin gives an account of the experiment by which he showed thet the cathode discharge carried negative electric charges with it. A similar experiment was soon afterward carried (1897) out by J.J. Thomson leading to his discovery of the electron and its properties.

(the paper offerd), in which he describes an experiment supporting the speculations of William Crookes, Joseph John Thomsonm, and others that the cathode rays consist of negatively charged matter moving with considerably velocity."
