First edition. Hermbstädt, professor in the Collegium Medico-Chirurgico and at the University in Berlin, was the first in Germany to adopt the views of Lavoisier, whose Traite he translated in 1792. He was also a translator of the works of Scheele, and he furthered the interest of chemical industry by his researches and textbooks.
